How do You Paint Stripes on a Wall?

How do you paint stripes on a wall? Start by painting the wall one solid color. Once it has had ample time to cure you may begin laying out your stripes. Doing one accent wall is simple. Start by measuring the distance end to end. Divide the distance by either the number of stripes or the width that you want the stripes to be. Dividing by the number of stripes will give you the width of each stripe. Once you know the width of each stripe find the center of the wall and mark it vertically with a piece of tape. From there you can divide your stripe width in half and measure over for one half of the stripe from the center point in the wall. For example if you were doing 12 inch stripes you’d measure over six inches from the center of the wall. Next use a laser level to run a vertical line up the wall at that mark. Tape a line following the out side of the laser line. Do the same for the other side of the first stripe. For the next opposing color stripe measure from the inside of the tape line over by the width of your stripe and tape a line on the inside of the laser line. For the next stripe measure over from the outside of the tape. Continue this process until you reach the end of the wall. Then tape a line down the corner of the wall to stop the stripes or continue measuring to complete the entire room! Once everything is laid out cut in the tops and bottoms with your stripe color and roll the centers.
