Should we Paint Before we Move in?

July 17, 2014 0 Comments

“Should we paint before we move in?” If I had a nickel for every time I’ve been asked that question I wouldn’t be typing this post! My overall answer is yes you should hire us to paint before you move into your new home. Odds are you won’t be jumping for joy like the little computerized man in the picture when it comes time to paint your new home. Painting a new home is a huge job, focus on moving in, and let us handle the painting. I’ve done this type of job every possible way that there is. What works best is scheduling the painting in phases.

Delighted at having sold

Phase work makes a lot of sense when you’re just moving into a home. For instance, painting the hallways and stairwells before furniture is moved through them makes very little sense, as these are the areas most likely to be scuffed or damaged during a move. We work with you on a personal level and develop a phase plan that makes the most sense for your particular situation. We also do in house color consultations, which will help you choose colors faster without having to work with a third party.

Hiring a contractor who understands how to coordinate a job in the right sequence is very important. Often times sudden changes in the schedule arise. We have the experience to know exactly how to handle these situation. For instance let’s say you schedule painting to begin the day after your settlement date, and you end up unable to close the deal for a few more days. Other contractors may book jobs so tightly that they either end up working on jobs other than yours or rush through the painting process by skipping important steps, like dusting, showing you color sample, and protecting expensive kitchen cabinets or furniture.

If you are in the process of purchasing a new home and would like it painted before you move in, it’s important that you contact us as soon as possible. Please fill out the contact form below or call us at 267-825-6675 . Thank you.
