Preparing for Winter in Bucks County

October 5, 2011 0 Comments

Winter is without a doubt the harshest season of the year in Bucks County. Now is the time to get your home ready for the frigid months ahead. Repairing leaky roofs , clogged gutters, and drafty doors and windows are a must, but don’t forget about your exterior paint. It’s all about preventative maintenance. If the exterior paint on your home is failing you can bet it won’t be looking any better in the spring. Over the winter months failing paint will allow moisture to seep into wood, bubbling and cracking the surrounding paint and cause the wood to rot. This can become a costly problem. Any bare metal will surely rust before temperatures are warm enough for a coat of paint. In the summer paint failure is no problem it can be repaired as it happens, but because exterior paint cannot be applied during the winter months due to low temperature and wet weather, it is imperative to get all your exterior painting done before the winter season. Rotted wood and rusty metal only make for a larger repair bill in the spring. So follow these steps and take a good look at your home, or just call Sullivans Painting at (267) 825 6675 or  email and we will come look at it and prepare a detailed plan to help you protect your home.

Don’t let this happen to your home!
